This version of Final Fantasy 1 is a great way to introduce people who are not used to the old nintendo style of role playing games. The music is very nice, being ported straight from the playstation remake, and the extra dungeons add to the gaming experience nicely. I actually like that it's not overly difficult but it's not as overly easy compared to other games I've played either.
Great enhanced ports of the WSC remakes that were also released in the Final Fantasy Origins Compilation. Sadly, the difficulty is somewhat mediocre in comparison.
However, there are several bonuses in this version. FF1 has the Chaos Soul bonus dungeon that lets you fight bosses from the the sequels (notables include the Dark Crystal guardians from FF3, the four Elemental Archfiends from FF4, Gilgamesh/Atomos/Shinryu/Omega from FF5, and Typhon[Chupon]/Orthros[Ultros]/Phantom Train/Death Gaze from FF6).
FF2 has the Soul of Rebirth bonus dungeon that actually ties in with the story. Where you play as the fallen guest heroes of the main game and defeat the other side of the Emperor in the afterlife.
If you have a PSP, I recommend the 20th Anniversary Editions over this. Since they're essentially the same games with higher resolution, better sound/music and even MORE content (sadly, it's just as easy).
Final Fantasy 1 was a great classic loved it so much ^^
Final fantasy 2 on the other hand, well it was far to confusing with the lvl up system cause there are no levels O.o' instead you lvl your hp magic etc by using magic and taking damage, also you lvl up a lot better if you drag you battles out using lots of magic, taking hits, damaging then healing you opponent and damaging them again (not sure if you can do that but you probably could) either way didnt like it :p im more one to fight everybattle i encouter in the fastest way possible ^^
If you want it harder, there's a difficulty patch--look around. FF2 is too easy and there isn't a patch for that...
Also, "Four White Mages? It'll never work!". Pshaw, who needs four? I'll do it with one!
good game but there was no point to blooody rmk this on psp useless, ff1 is pretty easy if u get all the goods equips first but in ff2 gets pretty hard caue u dont lvl up like in ff1 u just get ure hp and stuff up i recommend ff1
ff1 is great but ff2 is a little too original with its level ups, gets annoying after a while
I enjoyed it, seeing as the graphics were remade to look better and such but unlike most Final Fantasies these to were almost made purely for a massive grindfest...
I beat it on gba and i loved it then i sold it like a dummy now i can't find it so i got it here
This game is great, I adore it.
I've played all realeses of these two games and i have to say that there two remakes seen to be better than the rest. i have nothing against the ps1 but it sure is nice to see ff1 and 2 back on one of the nintendo's sytems/handhelds.
Mediocre remakes. The difficulty and strategy of the originals was lost in an attempt to update the gameplay.
Great re-release of the first two Final Fantasy's, must get if you missed origins on PSX, or you just want to replay the original FF remastered to 16-bit or try the unreleased FF2 which is pretty challenging to say the least.
