How to use our 3DS ROMs

The Nintendo 3DS is the latest handheld console in a long and iconic range of handhelds from Nintendo. The new gimmick this time around is the ability to display stereoscopic 3D so that your games will look even more 3D than ever. The system is staying very true to its roots and offer new additions classic series, bringing us new 3DS Pokemon ROMs and Legend of Zelda ROMs.

The best way to play our 3DS ROMs is by using a flash cart such as Gateway 3DS or Sky3DS. You can think of these flash carts as the R4 of 3DS emulation as their functionality will be very similar. We've embedded a video showing the details of how the Sky3DS flash cart works and you can also check out this comparison of them.

Another way to play is by using the Citra 3DS emulator. It's still early times for this emulator but it's already showing amazing progress and run quite a few games. The process is a bit more involved as you'll have to decrypt the 3DS ROMs first. You can see the full process, but for now, it's easier to use a flash cart.
