I absolutely recommend this game for the ones who are studying Japanese, just like me..
Even though, it is just a game, It is really useful!
This game, as mentioned is an improved version and has all 1945 joyo(?) kanji. You do a practice test, create a save file, and then off you go! There's practice, reading and writing exercises and games, which I am not even close to discovering. lol (I learned this from a you tube vid) But as far as the basic prcactice- In one screen it shows you what the finished product will look like, and it the touch screen you draw it yourself. There is a gray shadow you can follow, or just try it free hand. It will then give you a score on how well you did. This is the best game I've found to help me out, and try to teach me kanji. There's also a dictionary, and it lists a few compounds, but since I am just learning myself, I don't know how good it is. This is excellent for learning correct stroke order. It has a calander and keeps track of the percentage of kanji you've done. Again, I am no Japanese speaking master, but I have learned from this, and I can use it without knowing how to read a thing.
This is an improved version of the original æ£ãÂÂÂâ€â€Âã„漢åÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Âï¼Ãƒâ€šÃ‚ Still has the same music which I know most people find annoying but hey i don't mind it. There are a lot more Kanji that have been included this latest version which will be helpful to advanced students of Japanese who need the kanji to be able to read newspapers etc...
Also has a katakana section as the last installment only had a hirigana practice area. So this version is a lot better overall in terms of providing sufficent content for all levels of Japanese language learners. I had this imported from Japan because after playing the first installment I tried on Romulation I was really impressed with the software so I decided to invest some of my £££ in the game. =D
