This game is much better on the wii.
what does it work on?
I'm pretty sure that at the time you download this game, you have probably played a Star Wars game before. My favorite (for the DS)is Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga. Here is the review for Star Wars The Force Unleashed on the DS.
Set between Episode III and IV, this game focuses on the story of Darth Vader's secret apprentice, codenamed Starkiller. This is actually a really good storyline you will see. This game also uses the touch screen A LOT. To attack, you must tap an icon in the middle of the screen. All your force moves are also preformed with the stylus. Buttons are only used for moving, blocking, and dashing. Even jumping is done with the stylus. I don't think this is the right way to play. Action games should always, in my opinion, mostly use the buttons. Force combos are done by dragging your stylus across icons on the touch screen. Sometimes, this doesn't always work. I also saw that if get hit right when you unleash the combo, it will cancel what you did, and you still lose force energy. We move on to duels. What's annoying is that the enemy boss person guy follows you everywhere. Just face Darth Vader at the end of the game and you'll see what I mean. I have no complaints though on what you do in a saber lock. The graphics are okay, similar to what N-Space did with Call of Duty. Actually, this game was also made by N-Space too. You can tell by the game text. This game uses Star Wars music, of course. However there is no voice acting in this game, which sucks. This game might want to play it again after the shut off the DS. There are some lightsaber crystals you can find to change the color of your lightsaber. The bad thing about this is that there are too few crystals to find, only about six. The console versions have fifteen crystals. They do hide the crystals really well though. The camera is sometimes a problem, but not much. A really bad thing about this game is that you cannot pick the level and replay them. I was really bothered by this. Next, we have multiplayer. This only supports multi card play. You choose your characters and try and kill each other. It's a lot like a duel in single player mode, only except you are facing a real person. The only extras are cheat codes, which I never use. Star Wars The Force Unleashed gets the concept right, but is a little dissapointing n everything else.
My Verdict
-Gameplay: 7 out of 10 (No button combat, how nice.)
-Presentation: 7.5 out of 10 (Just a little weird at times)
-Storyline: 9 out of 10 (Starkiller's a weird name, but the story is still cool)
-Multiplayer: 7.5 out of 10 (Duel mode, but with a real person)
-Replay Value: 8 out of 10 (I still can't find the black crystal!)
This game deserves an okay score of 7.6 out of 10.
