Thats your average non-turn based RPG. A pretty cool game, good overall graphics, weapons and effects are pretty nice. One of the few DS RPG games that allows camera zooming without graphic glitching.
It is simple to play, depending on which class you take. There are 8(1 unlockable) different characters and 6 classes to choose (Battlers[warriors], darks[death knights], corps[paladins], somas[mages], kampfs[rogues] and gunners[hunters]), each class has its own techniques and specializations. You can reallocate skill points, it lets you try every kind of weapon or magic, see what fits you best, and go for it. Attribute pts. (STR,VIT and stuff) cannot be reallocated, though.
The world is pretty big, and you can take on side quests. Some of these quests may reward you with better items and experience or even unlock secret bonus chapters. Don't let the childish look fool you, the bosses from this game are pretty tough. Some have like 100x your HP and can deal lots of damage to your character, apply negative effects, like stunning, poisoning and breaking. The plot is good, multiplayer action is pretty cool and fun.
If you're looking for an entertaining RPG, that you can play for a long time, you've probably found it.

**For the ones looking for "challenge"... after finishing the game, you can play again on 'expert' and 'master' mode. Have fun! ...Or not.
Multiplayer has always been a problem on the Handheld consoles.Of Course,Wi-fi Connection allows us to play with other people around the world, but it will always be better to play with someone you know, talking, person to person.
The Best thing about this game is that you rely on others heavily, making use of spells and healing items in order to progreed.Believe-me,you will need to shout somenthing like "i´m using a potion!" or "Protect-me!" often, and your friend will have to listen, and everyone will have to co-operate in order to finish some tough battles.Of course, communication has been a big problem with the wi-fi connection, good thing this game only has wireless. This game has all the Elements that make a RPG top-notch,like leveling up and being able distribute your points,Equipment Restrictions,Really epic soundtrack, and a long gameplay. If you guys think Phantasy Star 0 had the best wi-fi experience, you will see what this game can do only with the wireless function.
And oh yes!8 Character slots! That made my day.
This is a great game with a good mix of story (though some of the cutscenes are a little long) and map-crawling. I've been hooked and playing almost nonstop since yesterday- the characters are cute, the music is good, and the scenery is beautiful. With the English patch, you can barely tell that this wasn't originally in English- the translators did a great job!
can u battle on wifi with this game
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!! To the translators who took the time to do this for us
Wow what a nice game....i love it it's like Ragnarok...:D
No no there are "CP" which basically are for Strength, Vitality etc.
Then there are "AP" which are for your special moves and techniques.
Gunner Class is the best~
Reassigning EXP points?!?! What kind of challenge can this bring? Surely it was aimed for little kids who are not up to the challenge... (yes,a provocative statement...it is on purpose)
Meh...
Thanks, Soma Bringer is the best..
One Of the great japanese games for NDS
(Stop skipping non-US games)

I'll find some great japanese games
a good game sumhow remind me of legend of mana
a game good story and fun to play
Very dissapointed with this game.
Whilst the story holds up kinda well, albeit a bit clique, the problem for me was that after a few hours playing, suddenly you can pretty much beat anything, and you know after you finish your current mission, youll be onto the next which typically includes - Kill a load of stuff, (or run past) and then the boss.
I chose the soma bringer class (mage), which allows you to gain AP points each level. These AP points you can put into spells to raise their strength. That is a good idea, but what isnt a good idea, is that you can remove these points and reassign them.
This meant that whilst already i was quick enough to run through the usual monsters prior to the boss battles; that when i got to the boss and found the spell he was weak against, id just put all my AP into it and blast it dead in a minute whilst my 2 book-ends (you choose 2 comp players to accompany you on missions) played blocker.
If you like relentless grinding, youll love this. Its a great story, and the graphics and battle are fun for a while, but become repetitive fast. Ultimately, it wasnt for me, but for fans of action RPG's its worth a shot.
