(U) is not just US, it is for North America. Mexico is Spanish and Canada has some French speakers.

US version has IV in the title screen and took out the option to play in German or Italian. It still has Spanish and French text, though. (you change language in the DS's menu, not in the game) For people hoping for party talk being put back in for this version, looks like it wasn't.
